The Good Fight – Entry 59

dropKAGThe Good Fight

Well I took an extra few days off. I was adding a medication and the holidays of course. It was nice having a few days to reboot and getting out of the RV a bit. I’ve had a full but very fun few days. So let’s get into it.

First and foremost I had the appointment with the medication specialist. The good news is he said we were close! but needed to add just one med to help me more and the others work better and together. So I’ve been on that med for just going on a few days now. So far so good. That’s not to say it will stay that way. In the past it’s went well in the beginning but didn’t end up working out. I have high hopes this will work. Just gotta think positive and hope for the best.

The in home nurse stopped by before Christmas for a visit. Just a quick in and out. We talked about crafting, randomness and what she got her kids for gifts. It was a good and fun visit. It’s always nice and entertaining when she stops by.

So between now and then I’ve been trying to adjust to the new meds. Although my hands are seemingly working better. I can get to sleep, still can’ stay asleep. It is better though. The pain has still been tremendous but that’s par for the course at this point it seems. Overall I feel like I’m doing better but I also feel like I’m still adjusting to the new meds. I’ve been a bit scatter brained. I don’t know if that’s a side effect or just having some bad days in that area. We shall just have to wait and see.

Christmas! I had a grand Christmas. I got gifts from a lot of people like my friend Don from Tokyo! Josh, George, Wes, Ian, Andy and a few others from here in the states. I got the two new printers from Vast church in Sisters Oregon. All the gifts given were fantastic. It was fun having things to unwrap. My Amazon list was emptied out and I’m doing fairly well in that area. I feel very fortunate and blessed this year. I opened gifts on xmas eve and then on Christmas day my friend Cody came picked up Dart and I, then we went on a little adventure. We went out into the forest and up into the mountains, found some snow and had a white fluffy cold fun Christmas. It was beautiful scenery. I didn’t even think about many or any pics because I was having such a great time. Then we went back to his place in the town after and hung out for a bit. It was a very great time and was fantastic that I got to spend some time with Cody and his family.

Adventures in 3d printing! I’ve sold a few pieces which is wonderful! I’ve been having a heck of a time with some different prints but I’ll get there. The third printer which had a broken front LCD has now been replaced with a shiny new one. I have to get the gasket put on today, the firmware updated and it setup for printing. It actually came in three days ago but we’ve had some large mishaps. These new meds make it hard to wake up so I’m super groggy for a long time. Monday while putting resin back into the bottle the funnel decided to tip. Spilling nasty sticky resin all over my pants and slippers (now ruined I think). It took me hours to clean up. Then on Tuesday instead of having he Mercury wash and cure machine on wash… I had it on cure. Well cure setting + a vat of 99% IPA with resin in it = a huge mess to clean up. The sad part was that I was almost out of IPA and had prints coming out. Just as I got done cleaning up the best I could here comes the UPS man with two more gallons of IPA I had recently ordered! What luck! I was back in business. All in all the problems weren’t detrimental when they could have been in several ways. So I’m good. Now to put the gasket on number three and replace the gasket on number two today. Then try to catch up on printing once my resin gets here today, ran out of grey. So that’s been a real adventure! Also my hands are starting to work better and I can paint again on a limited basis. So happy about that!

Before after and in-between has been a lot of calls, visits , some down time and other. I know the blog has been slow but I’ve been taking some me time. One because the holidays are a difficult time for me. Two because I’ve been a bit tired and need a little extra down time to recoup. I apologize I’ve been away so long and I hope you’re still here with me!

I’ll keep it simple today because in just and hour my very busy day of doctors and errands starts. Oh boy… what fun. Not to forget I have to get the printers all up and running again. Well off the the slow race’s. I’m definitely the turtle these days. Thank you so much for joining me on my journey, much love and I hope your having a wonderful holiday season my friends!
