Well well well… boy oh boy. It’s been a ride of a month. This will be a mostly good one! So if you want that for a change, then read on!
Firstly… in some of my previous blog posts the time stamp is off because somehow my system time got changed to be GMT or something *facepalm*. Fixed. I’ll be going back and fixing those posts by using the timestamps on the Facebook posts, because those are correct. HAHA! double posting is good for several things. Anyway, if the time for the post was PM and I’m talking about starting my morning, now you know why. AND 99% of you didn’t give a shit about that but me… OCD to the MAX! So now that’s done ON WITH IT!
Let’s start with health. Saw my actual doc (GP) yesterday. She agreed something is off in my medication regimen and that’s causing me some major medical distress. Unfortunate but at least we both agreed. We came up with a short term plan to hopefully “band-aid” the problem. Also a long term plan to get me on a better medication regimen. That will take some consultation and several days but there’s hope. I requested to see a neurologist that specializes in Parkinson’s. She agreed fully. We discussed some other things and then I was off. Did I mention this was an in office visit! It was nice to see her again. She had been on vacation for 30 days. The PA is a moron and we do not mesh so yes that made me happy. So I still currently feel purty horrible medically speaking but try my best to maintain. I got this…
Just a quick note… Dart is CLEAN and looks SO GOOD! He’s acting like he feels a bit better after getting a bath, although he wasn’t so stoked at the time. He’s having some medical issues but we’ll talk about that on the next blog. This one is gonna stay positive today! For the new folks… Dart is my lil old buddy of 11 years now. He’s my heart and soul.
Next let’s talk about 3D printers. I’ve been trying to get one. I think it’s a huge opportunity for an income. I have all the skills just needed the equipment. So I contacted a company to see if I could get a printer for review. I’ll leave their name out because we’re still working on things and they are trying to make this all right now as of last night. Make what right? you might ask. Well this… Several weeks ago they said I could get a upgraded version of the smaller model they make for review. Deal was, I get a refurbished one, print, leave honest review, they don’t charge me, done. All going well. Then the printer comes. It’s a nightmare… a sticky mess that has so many broken parts it was upsetting, frustrating and a total joke. So I write the nice PR rep back to let her know. She initially responds with many apologies and that they would send me a standard version of the printer in compensation. They were now out of the upgrade version. Ok there we go not perfect, but that’s good PR! …but wait there’s more! So Ian and I get the broken piece of junk fixed up enough to get one good print off the thing. The print was actually gorgeous! Then it was basically toasted. Any further use would have destroyed it completely. I repaired laptops and micro electronic for years, fixing these printers with the right parts would be beginners shit for me even with a degraded mind. It could be repaired if the parts were available and would be salvageable, but the parts list was long. So I wait and get the new printer, which was a standard model… refurb again *facepalm*. Get it out of the box and from the outside not so bad. On the inside was a different story… The build plate (heavy metal sharp edged piece) had not been secured properly and had bounced around during shipping doing major damage to the three main components. The printer was toasted. Again it could be repaired and salvaged but the parts list, a bit shorter, was still long. The parts lists also were the main more expensive components of the printers. I was so upset but I stayed calm and again wrote her back… she took several days to even respond, finally at 10pm last night and the adventure started.
Let’s step back a few hours from 10pm last night to earlier around dinner time. I wanted to talk to someone so I called my brother, then aunt, then cousin. My cousin answered. So we chatted. I had been meaning to call her. We talk about the printer and being the kind hearted loving best cousin ever bought me the printer I wanted off my Amazon list as an early Christmas gift. I was shocked, wanted to cry but was so overly excited I couldn’t. It was one of the most amazing feelings ever. A chance to make actual physical things and possibly and income. It’s like the clouds parted a bit and I could see rays of sunshine! So I had just sold an art piece and got a private donation from an old friend (dropKAG.com donation and shop available art!). This gave me just enough extra funds to buy the supporting piece of equipment for the printer. Life is great! I’m so excited to start this journey. Even after the mess above I loved it and really felt a passion for it. This is something I can do totally at home! So you might see some resin (the stuff you print with) pop up on my Amazon list today under the creative supplies. Now that all the good feelings are out of the way let’s get back to 10pm last night.
So the PR rep randomly messages me back. She is from China so there’s a small language barrier even though she speaks fantastic English! I consider it my fault for not being better educated in other languages. Anyway, I had written in summary that I really wanted to work things out. Mind you this was days ago. I told her there had to be some middle ground. Some way for me to get a working printer and leave a positive review! She didn’t understand and took it as a threat *facepalm*. After a long chat I helped her understand. She then apologized for the misunderstanding, she’s so nice! She was unware of my expertise in micro electronics. Side note, it’s not like these things are complicated in the first place lol. So she understood I wanted to be a good person, get a working printer and leave them a good review at this point. Mind you my cousin had JUST bought me another, my preferred brand, of 3D printer a few hours earlier. Well the PR rep sounds surprised when I say I can fix them if I could get parts… she says “I can get you parts!” *banging head against wall*. She then asks for a list… so I bundle up (cold outside). Head for the shop. Unpack the broken printers. Make a HUGE list of parts including actually body casing parts like almost an entire new body for one. I send the list and she doesn’t respond right away so I’m thinking yep, she had a stroke. She then responds with two questions regarding my list and says “Thank You, I’ll send the parts, please confirm your address”. MY MIND EXPLODED! So then we talked about the Wash/Cure station for those printers. She said she could get me a nice discount on that supporting piece of equipment when I’m ready. What a great company and more on these stories to come as the new printer setup and the parts for the broken refurbs get here! They have some top notch PR or at least she is!
Alright alright alright… donations. You folks. I haven’t had a lot of monetary donations coming in, a few… BUT!!! the Amazon list and the personal boxes you all have been sending are working just as well! I’ve got most of what I need to keep me going for a two, three months on some things, other things less of course. Those are the items you’ll see regularly pop up on the Amazon list. SO much, SO many donations. I needed this all so badly and everyone had really stepped up. Please don’t stop! I’m not out of the woods yet! I do now have a wonderful amount of security. Feeling much less scared going into winter. This has helped in lowering my stress, anxiety and fear… in turn that helps me mentally which helps me physically. So just because of those little things,,, you all have help me improve my quality of life, you’ve also helped elevate my spirits and that makes a huge difference. Someone said they got an error on the Amazon list link again but then it was working. There’s not much on there now. I’ll be adding more today. If the link doesn’t work for you message me as soon as possible please. There will always be non life essential crafting/art supplies on there. Never feel the need to get those. They are just wants, not for survival and are all clearly marked that way. If you’re feeling generous, go for it, art supplies me up. If not no worries. Survival stuff is set at a higher “priority” so watch for that please. This has all been so fantastic. You’ve all been so wonderful. Words just don’t seem appropriate anymore. I will thank you a million times, but for you and me… I’m going to do my best to thrive, survive, overcome and live the best I can with my friend Mr. Parkinson’s disease. It’s all going to work out! I know it will because I won’t give up for me, for my family and for all of you! Try till I die!
